Installing Minecraft mods is easier than you think. This guide covers everything from choosing a mod loader to troubleshooting crashes.
Step 1: Choose Your Mod Loader
Most mods require either Fabric or Forge. Fabric is lighter and faster, while Forge has more mods available. For performance mods, we recommend Fabric.
Step 2: Install the Mod Loader
Download the installer from the official Fabric or Forge website. Run it, select your Minecraft version, and click Install. This creates a new profile in the Minecraft launcher.
Step 3: Download Mods
Browse our mod catalog and download the .jar files for your Minecraft version. We recommend starting with Sodium for FPS boost and JEI for recipe viewing.
Step 4: Place Mods in the Mods Folder
Press Win + R, type %appdata%/.minecraft, and open the mods folder. If it doesn't exist, create it. Drag your downloaded .jar files into this folder.
Step 5: Launch and Enjoy
Launch Minecraft using the Fabric/Forge profile. Your mods will load automatically. Check the Mods menu in-game to verify everything is working.
Common Issues
- Game crashes: Make sure all mods are for the correct Minecraft version and mod loader.
- Mod not showing: Check that the .jar file is in the correct mods folder.
- Low FPS despite mods: Try adding Lithium and FerriteCore for additional optimization.
